BACKGROUND: The Westlake Academy Leadership Team has reviewed and recognize the need to fill the Special Education Coordinator position and identified this position as a hard to fill position. The person serving in this role fulfills Federal requirements that are time sensitive.
Academy. DISCUSSION:
The proposed updates to the compensation for additional duties due to a vacancy created by the resignation of the Special Education Coordinator will be a one-time compensation that more clearly aligns with the additional duties and hard to fill role.
This person will be responsible for the duties of the Special Education Coordinator as well as the Diagnostician until the end of the 2023- 2024 school year.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$ 15,000.00
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
• $15,000.00 one-time compensation
