STAFF: Cheryl Taylor, P.E., Director of Public Works
BACKGROUND:
This agreement will allow staff to contract for pavement markings and other miscellaneous traffic control devices with Stripe A Zone for maintenance of the Town's public streets, as needed. The contract for services is within the approved budgeted amount for street maintenance in the FY25 budget.
DISCUSSION:
Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of the Town's public streets, including the replacement or addition of pavement markings and traffic control devices, as needed. Staff plans to refresh pavement markings along Dove Road from Ottinger Road to Davis Boulevard, Ottinger Road from SH170 to Dove Road, and North Pearson Lane from Dove Road to the City Limit of Keller. An interlocal agreement with the City of Grand Prairie allows the Town of Westlake to contract with Stripe a Zone at prices that have been bid and meet State procurement requirements. Approval will allow for providing pavement markings and traffic control devices from Stripe A Zone in an amount not to exceed $85,000 which exceeds the Town Manager's signatory approval and requires Town Council approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this agreement in an amount not to exceed $85,000 will be from the Public Works approved Street operating budget for fiscal year 2024-2025.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of Resolution 24-76 authorizing the expenditure of funds for providing pavement markings and other necessary traffic control...
